Welcome Senior 1

Hey everyone!!

I´m so glad to be working, learning, discovering, enjoying so many new things with you all!

We have a long but short way to go towards the IGCSE Literature examination and we´ll be reading so many interesting texts: Poetry, Prose and Drama.

We´ll be together 4 periods a week and please….don´t forget to bring books and booklet with you to all our classes, as well as your folder.  Having the material with you will help you a lot.

This is a very different year for you since you are starting high school and your are having a blog as a kind of folder with all the subjects you will be studying. For Literature, I need you to create a category called: Literature and a subcategory called: Essay tips and writings.

Exams, blog assignments, paper assignments and any other kind of homework will be posted in the class Calendar. (if I forget….remind me!!)

Finally, I would like you to read these phrases.

-Which one do you like? Why?

    Hi Pato,
My favourite quote is the one that says “Literature is the most agreeable way of ignoring life” because i feel that when you read a book you escape your ordinary life and travel places you would never imagine, that’s one of the main reasons why books are an essential part of my life.

  2. Francisco Lusso says:

I like the one phrase “A home without books is a body without soul”.
Because it said that reading is inspiring, if you don´t read so much is like you need book to live

  3. Victoria Landolfo says:

    Hi Pato,
I like the phrase written by Jane Austen because it allways happens to me. I read long books which I found short in content because they are not as worthy it seemes and I do not understand why.

    Hi pato,
I like the one that says “NEVER judge a book by its movie”, beacuse i love to read and that is true. Sometimes the people judge only looking the movie, but the book for me is beter, it is more in detailed.

Hi pato, my favorite picture is the one that says “Never judge a book by it”s movie” because I really like to read and sometimes I don’t like the movies of the books I read and some people say “no the book must be horrible because the movie was really bad” and I feel really angry because they are missing something that they would really like, by assuming that the book will be like the movie.

    Hi pato,
I really like the one that says ‘ A home without books is a body without soul’ . I like it becasue although I don’t read too much, I think that it´s a very complete prhase. The prhase says that for a reader, the books are very important in their lifes. Without a soul you coudnt live, so they think that without boocks niether.

I liked the one that said Literature is the most agreeable way of ignoring life. I liked it because its true what is saying because since in literature you read some people would stay in their homes reading their instead of enjoying life.

  10. Martin Anania says:

I like the phrase “Reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting”. I like it becuase if you buy a book and you don’t make your own reflexions maybe you din’t find that book interesting. Also if you are trying out a new food and you don’t like it you have to finish it if you are in a restaurant but if you are in your house you can just trhow it away…
