  1. Belen Gay says:

Do you have worries? Things that keep you awake at night? or Do you have a mind content? Yes, I have them. My main worries are the school because we have lot of homework.
-Make a summary of the poem. Which literary devices does the writer use to put his message across? In my opinion, poor people, as it is said in the poem, are happier that the rich people, because they have material things that need to take care of, however, poor people have now material things and they don’t think about their problems.
This poem have literary devices such as similies and hyperbaton.
    -What is your opinion?
In my opinion, there are things to take care of and some others that don’t need our worry. What I want to say is that feeling unhappy because of insignificant things its more stupid like us of worring about those things.

  2. FranciscoRipoll says:

-Do you have worries? Things that keep you awake at night? or Do you have a mind content? Yes I do have worries, the main one is school. I am always hurry to finish some homeworks or to study for a test.

-Make a summary of the poem. Which literary devices does the writer use to put his message across?
The poem is about a princes who has all the money that she want and all the things that she wants but this is not a synonym of having a mind content. It tells that poor people do not have money but that is why they do not have so many worries in their lifes so they have a mind content.

    -What is your opinion?
My opinion is that the more worries you have, more unhappier you are. Worries and happines are inversely. To be happy you have to have a mind content, this is the only way to enjoy life as much as possible.

  3. Nicolás Araya says:

I have a lot of worries, especially at this moment of my life where I have to soon decide about my future and what I would like to do for the rest of my life. Nothing as bothering that it doesn’t let me sleep, but I don’t believe there s someone with no worries

The poem compares the level of stress and worries of a wealthy man and a beggar living on the street. The beggar has no worries, he falls asleep watching the stars and does not have to think about tommorow. On the other hand, the wealthy person is always busy either working, or paying taxes or education for the family, but he/she always has its mind on something important. This is an obstacle to live a happy stress-less life.

Although I agree with what the writer porposes, i do not think that life for a beggar is easy and with no worries. The advantage that the rich person has is the fact that he has more accomodations and luxuries which are very enjoyable, and that poor people don’t have.

  4. Piky Loza says:

    1) Yes, there are many things that are in my mind every day, ones that I pass them I feel like if someone took me off a backpack. Sometimes we exagerate everything and we get really frustrated but we must chill and let the things flow.

    2) The writer compares two different type of person that live there lifes in different ways. On of these two is the prince that seems to have to many worries and that money haven’t helped him to be really happy. The other one was a beggar with no preoccupations, he is poor so he does not have nothing to be in charge of and he is no one for nobody and because of that he lives happy.

    3) I think that every people of the world has preoccupations and that those that seems to be careless are the most preoccupaied about everything and are afraind of showing what they feel. Also I think that every extreme isn’t fine and that worry about everything can’t help you to be happy.

  5. Agus Buljevich says:

-Do you have worries? Things that keep you awake at night? or Do you have a mind content?
Yes I have a lot of worries and many times I find impossible to sleep because I can’t stop thinking. My worries are almost always things that I have to do the next day, an exam, an important event, etc. I don’t have a specific worry, it used to change. Moreover, I don’t have troubles to sleep every night it depends on how disturb my mind is.
Make a summary of the poem. Which literary devices does the writer use to put his message across?
The poem is about a rich man, a prince who does not have a free mind; he has a lot of worries because he fears losing everything he has. Throughout the poem, the author compares this prince with a beggar, a man who almost nothing. However, Greene shows us how the beggar is much richer than the prince because he has mind content, has no worries compared to the prince. The literary devices that are used in the poem are anaphora, similes, comparisons, hyperbatons, and alliteration.
    -What is your opinion?
I think that the poem leaves us thinking on how we want to live. Sometimes we have many problems and worries and all that do not let us be as happy as we should. I know that sometimes it is difficult not to have worries because we live in a society where it is impossible not to have them; however, I think that if we try it we can end having a much more peaceful mind.

  6. Antonia Flores Piran says:

1)Yes, I have a lot of worries. The worries I have are fear for what will happen in the future. I am always thinking of what is going to happen, and that makes me think everyhing a million times.
2)The poem is about rich people that have a lot of worries and problems so they are not happy they leave really stressed. While poor people leave in tranquility and in peace despite not having money.

    3) In my opinion, it is true that usually rich people have a lot of problems and things to do and that poor people apreciate more things and leave more in peace. However, In my opinion, you can have money and material things but you should give them the importance they have. You don´t have to depend of the money.

  7. Ignacio Rela says:

-Do you have worries? Things that keep you awake at night? or Do you have a mind content?
As every person I have worries, it would be utopic and unreal to dont have any worries. The things that keep me awake at night change everyday, but they are always about my future, in matter of further studies, or sports.

-Make a summary of the poem. Which literary devices does the writer use to put his message across?
The poem is about how the mind of people who are poor (because they have now material things and because they have no thoughts about their problems) are happier than rich people (who have material things and many worries in their minds about how to earn more money and other problems).
The author uses literary devices such as similies, hyperbatones, alliterations and comparisons to express his ideas.
    -What is your opinion?
I think that happiness is relative, no one has the absolut truth about what is happiness and how to be happy.
Being less relative, I agree with the idea that having a mind content can bring you happiness but on the other hand it would be really difficult to have one, as I said, it is utopic because also the poorest people had preocupations.

  8. Francisco Okecki says:

    1) In my case I do have worries and thoughts that are stuck in my mind that don´t let me live the life with peace as Robert describes in his poem. The problem is that, in most of the cases the things I´m worried about are insignificant and sometimes I realize I´m having nonsense worries but I just can´t handle it, I believe that is the capacity Robert Greene had that we don´t and it would be truly amazing to have.
    2) This poem is sort of a message, where Greene tries to show how happiness hides besides having a mind content, what is a mind content? Well , a mind content is a relaxed mind with no place of worries, a mind that lets you enjoy life by living it with peace instead of worrying about everything. The literary devices used are, metaphors and comparisons in the case of the princess and beggar comparison along with the use of hyperbatons to contrast some parts of the poem, and a very effective way of structure which is very simple, with a simple rhyme, so as to focus on the message and not to make the poem to complicated which is the way he suggests we have to live our lives.
    3) In my opinion having a mind content could be a road to happiness but in the society we live in not worrying about anything could end up in failure so there is a thin line there which Robert Greene dominated but I find it hard sometimes, maybe with the years and wisdom I´ll find the balance I need.
    (BEST WORK EVER)

  9. Belen Irazusta says:

1)yes i have a lot of worries and i think that most of them are insignifact things that our mind make worse. but i believe that im not the only one. most teenagers and adults have worries and things that stress them out.
2)the writter compares a prince and beggars life to explain why the beggar´s life is much more happier that the prince´s life. the beggar´s life in one with no worries at all why the prince has to take care of his kingdom and all the things that that means. so the message of the poem is that despite having a lot of things the prince does not have a mind content at all.
he uses similies and also comparisons, anaphoras, metaphors, alliterations and hyperbatons.
3)i think that this poem has a rich message because somentimes we dont enjoy life a 100% because we are worring all the time and life is short so we should enjoy it as long as we can

  10. Federico Tear and Joaquin Olaizola says:

    1) Yes I do have worries and think about them at night before going to sleep. Unless is something that is really giving me stuggles and problems I usually do not stay awake all night thinking about them. Nevertheless, every day before going to sleep something runs through my mind. a conversation, future, past or whatever that really pops up in my mind for whatever reason.

    2) In this poem, the main characters are the prince and the beggar. these two are used to portray their minds and also how the prince is not very open minded whereas the beggar has a free mind without many concerns. this makes him happy, and on the other side the prince is always worried about little things that do not really matter.
Similies, comparisons, anaphora and alliteration are the literary devices used.

3)I think that people that have too many things worry about stuff that should not even get our attention, while humble people really enjoy the little things, making them happy for at least that moment.

  11. sofi teran says:

    1. Yes, a lot of them. Even more this year were I have to decide by my own what I will be doing in the future, which can be pretty stressful. I do not have a mind content, since I always think everything I do a lot and sometimes I over think stuff. I have my mind occupied most of time by worries
    2. The poem is about a prince, which is used to represent an occupied mind and a beggar that is used to represent a free mind. A mind without worries. Moreover, throughout the poem the writer compares these two minds letting the reader know that the mind of the beggar is much freer that the prince mind because he has nothing to worry about. The prince might have a lot of stuff and the beggar almost nothing. But still the beggars mind is much richer that the prince, it has much more mind content , since the prince the only thing that has in mind are worries about taking care of his stuff and not losing them.
The literary devices that are used are comparisons, similes, hyperbatons, anaphora and alliteration
    3. In my opinion , I think that Is not good having no worries at all but also is not good that tha only thing that we have in mind are worries because is not healthy. I think that somewhere in the middle is the perfect balance

  12. Majo Tear, Juan Cruz Gomez Roca, agus campion says:

    1) Yes we do have worries, like school, or our future as we are finishing school this year and we need to decide our college career or what to do.
    2) The poem is about how the princes despite of having all the money and things they want, they do not have mind content whereas the poor have little to none things they have no worries so they get to relax and have a mind content.
    3) I think that rich people, or people that have power, can get to a mind content if they let theirselves get there and relax. And we also think that some of the poor also can not have a mind content.

  13. Alezzandrini, Nacho, Justo says:

-Do you have worries? Things that keep you awake at night? or Do you have a mind content?
Yes, we are really worried and concerned in our scholar matters.
From Justo s and Mili s part they are very worried about his future in terms of further studies.
Nacho is worried about sports he does.

Justo and Nacho believe that they have a mind content up to some extent, while milagros does not think she has a mind content.
-Make a summary of the poem. Which literary devices does the writer use to put his message across?
The poem is about how the mind of poeple who are poor (because they have now material things and because they have no thoughts about their problems) are happier than rich people (who have many material things and many worries in theri minds about how to earn more money and other problems).
    -What is your opinion?
In our opinion, there are some things that you have to take care of and think about, to keep your mind content, in order to not to feel sad for silly things. But you might not be worring about non-important things that the only thing that causes in you are worries and make you unhappy because you start thinking and you loose your mind content
